Light at the end of the tunnel...

Well, it's been a busy semester, as is so often the case. But, we're almost to the end, which means we get to celebrate Christmas and the New Year with family and lots of rest and relaxation.
Andrew has had a successful semester, and with three out of four grades currently posted online, he's got three A's thus far. He has just one semester left on his Master's and is scheduled to graduate on May 14th, 2011! I guess time flies when you're having fun. He really enjoyed his classes this semester, especially the two classes he had with a particular professor that he really admires. I'm so glad he's found a profession that he truly has a passion for. I know I couldn't spend hours and hours reading this type of material - but for him, it's basically his favorite thing ever. So, yay for that!
For me, choir is winding down for the season. It's been a good year and I feel like now that I'm just at one campus, I'm doing a pretty decent job of building a choir program that is a good strong program for kids and everything, and yet isn't a program that takes over my life or prevents me from having a life at all. I'm typically able to leave school at a reasonable hour, say 60-90 minutes after student dismissal, so that's not bad at all.
Right now, I'm really looking forward to the break. Most of the time, I'm fairly "OK" with having family so far flung and only seeing my parents and brothers a handful of times each year... but somehow it's now, when I know I'm going to see them soon, that I miss them most. I guess it's just the anticipation.
